| i'm now officially a state employee. i will be working for DCS (Department of Children's Services...formally known as CPS). i've completed one week of training out of twelve so only eleven more weeks to go! scary line of work but i'm looking forward to helping out a different group of kids. please pray for me and the families that i will be working with! | | |
| if everyone out there could pray for mine and napes' roommate and her family...she just lost her grandpa last night and she can't make it home until sunday | | |
| just wanted to put up a quick post...i know it's been a while, but i don't have time for a huge update... for all of you that read this i would appreciate prayers...my grandma (mom's side), jeanette, was diagnosed with terminal cancer...you name it and that's the location of it...she's doing chemo to potentially decrease the pain, but the doctor's say there's no way to cure it. my mom (chris) is having a really hard time...she's the only child that lives near my grandma so it's her job to work full time (9 hour days), take g-ma to chemo, take care of g-ma before and after work, plus take care of herself. my family really needs lifted up in prayer...especially my mom | | |
| well...we've officially begun living at the new house. i sure am going to miss the apartment...we had a lot of great memories there! now...we'll begin to make new memories in this fantastic house we've got...hope to have a party set up sometime soon and then we'll see a few of you out there i'm sure! | | |
| Friday night we were told by a guy that runs our league that it was decided if we won Saturday night that we would replace the Baltimore Burn in the NWFA Playoffs! (His boss, Katherine Masters, is the person that runs the league and she gave him free reign on running the league b/c she doesn't know as much about it.) We would have the same record and two of their wins came from forfeits. Needless to say, we were stoked! Saturday night came. Game time. We went out and did our jobs. Offense came through and scored 28 points. Defense had three interceptions and held the other team to a shut out! 28-0 was the final score. We are the first 1st year team to make it to the playoffs. PLAYOFF BOUND!!! Sunday we headed to practice to prepare ourselves for the upcoming game against the Southwest Michigan Mayhem (a team that we've been within reach, but haven't beat yet this year). We arrive to practice and find out the Baltimore Burn emailed Katherine Masters about the decision for us to go instead of them and she REVOKED the decision. We are no longer headed for the playoffs, but I'll be at that first playoff game where the Mayhem face the Burn. GO SW MICHIGAN MAYHEM!!! | | |
